Overview

The Technics SU-7300 is a stereo integrated amplifier produced from roughly 1976 through 1979. Rated at 41 watts per channel into 8 ohms with both channels driven, it offers enough power for many classic speakers while keeping the clean, relatively compact proportions of a traditional silver-face component.

Why This Model Matters

The SU-7300 comes from the same period in which Technics was establishing a broad identity beyond its now-famous turntables. Its amplifier section uses a differential input stage with current-mirror loading, an engineering approach intended to achieve low distortion and strong signal-to-noise performance. The published specification of 0.08% total harmonic distortion was competitive for its class in the mid-1970s.

Functionally, it is built around the sources most listeners actually used: a moving-magnet turntable, tuner, auxiliary component, and tape decks. Separate bass and treble controls, loudness compensation, speaker selection, and tape-monitoring facilities make it flexible without becoming cluttered.
