The Sony TA-N731 is an audio/video power amplifier from 1993, designed for the transition period when serious stereo systems were expanding into Dolby Surround home theater. In two-channel operation it is rated at 135 watts per channel into 8 ohms, giving it considerably more output than its relatively understated black chassis might suggest.
