Klipsch RP-600M II Bookshelf Speakers
Overview
The Klipsch RP-600M II is the larger of the two second-generation Reference Premiere bookshelf speakers, sold as a pair. Each cabinet uses a single 6.5-inch Cerametallic woofer and a 1-inch Linear Travel Suspension titanium tweeter loaded into a 90-degree by 90-degree hybrid Tractrix horn. The combination delivers the dynamic, detailed and highly efficient sound Klipsch is known for, with a 94.5dB sensitivity rating. A rear Tractrix port tunes the bass, and dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping. Finishes are ebony and walnut vinyl with magnetic grilles.
Why This Model Matters
The RP-600M II has earned a strong reputation among stand-mount speakers for delivering big, lively sound from a compact cabinet. The second-generation model builds on that with a larger horn, a vented tweeter that reduces standing waves and an updated Cerametallic woofer with Faraday rings. Its high sensitivity makes it forgiving of modest amplification, whether used in a hi-fi system or as home-theater mains or surrounds.
