Klipsch RP-502S II Surround Speakers
Overview
The Klipsch RP-502S II is a dedicated surround speaker in the second-generation Reference Premiere series, sold as a pair. Each cabinet uses dual 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofers and a 1-inch Linear Travel Suspension titanium tweeter in a 90-degree by 90-degree hybrid Tractrix horn, arranged with Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology to spread sound broadly for an enveloping surround field. A keyhole mount makes on-wall installation simple. The sealed cabinets are finished in ebony and walnut vinyl.
Why This Model Matters
Surround channels benefit from wide, diffuse dispersion rather than pinpoint imaging, and the RP-502S II is purpose-built for that job. Its bipole-style Wide Dispersion Surround Technology array creates a spacious, immersive effect from side or rear wall positions, while keeping the horn-loaded tonal character of the Reference Premiere towers and center. Second-generation upgrades add a larger horn, a vented tweeter and Faraday-ring woofers for lower distortion.
