Pioneer SX-1050
The Pioneer SX-1050 is an AM/FM stereo receiver from the company’s late-1970s component lineup. Its built-in amplifier is rated at 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, so it can drive a conventional pair of passive speakers without a separate power amplifier.
The receiver combines radio tuning, source selection, and stereo amplification in one chassis. Its high output rating placed it among Pioneer’s more powerful receivers of the period, while the traditional front-panel layout keeps the main controls and tuning display accessible.
- AM/FM stereo receiver
- 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms
- Integrated tuner and amplifier
- Multiple source inputs
The SX-1050 is a natural centerpiece for a vintage two-channel system with radio, a turntable, and other line-level sources. Matching speakers should be selected for the receiver’s output and the room.
