Overview

The Integra DHC-60.7 is a 7.2-channel network A/V preamp/processor from the mid-2010s. Unlike an A/V receiver, it does not contain speaker-power amplifiers; it is designed to feed one or more external power amplifiers through its line-level outputs.

Why This Model Matters

The DHC-60.7 represents Integra’s custom-install approach to home theater at the point when immersive surround formats were becoming mainstream. It supports Dolby Atmos and, through firmware support, DTS:X, while providing the connectivity expected in a serious separates-based theater: multichannel preamp outputs, balanced XLR connections, HDMI switching, networking, and multiple-zone operation.

Its appeal is flexibility. Owners can choose amplifiers appropriate to their speakers and room rather than being limited by the amplifier section inside a receiver. The processor also includes 4K-capable HDMI video handling, HDCP 2.2 on designated connections, AirPlay, Bluetooth, network streaming, and AccuEQ room calibration. Because it predates current HDMI 2.1 features, it is best understood as a capable immersive-audio controller for legacy and 4K-era sources rather than a modern gaming hub.

Highlights

  • 7.2-channel A/V preamp/processor
  • Dolby Atmos and DTS:X immersive-audio support
  • Balanced XLR and conventional RCA preamp outputs
  • 4K HDMI switching and HDCP 2.2 support on designated ports
  • AirPlay, Bluetooth, network streaming, and USB playback
  • AccuEQ room calibration
  • Multi-zone and custom-install control features
  • Requires separate power amplification

Who It’s For

The DHC-60.7 is for an enthusiast building a separates-based theater who already owns suitable power amplifiers or wants the freedom to choose them. It remains interesting for Atmos-era systems built around conventional 4K sources, though buyers needing the newest HDMI formats should plan their video routing carefully.
